Millers in Motion 2.0: Let’s try this again!

In 2019, we set out with some big, exciting goals.  We discovered some amazing travel creators on YouTube who reignited our wanderlust.  We realized that since we purchased our home in 2013, we just hadn’t been seeking adventure in our travels.  While we had a beautiful life with so very much to be thankful for, we had become stagnant.  We could count on one hand the new places we had been in six years, and we realized we were simply missing out.  Life isn’t meant to be lived within your comfort zone!  So, we did it.  We created our channel, developed a bit of a plan, and set out on our journey!

Oh, little did we know what waited around the corner.  Our first video hit YouTube December 2019, then COVID shut down the whole world just about 3 months later.  So much for our big travel aspirations!  We were still in the height of the pandemic and hadn’t found a new rhythm yet when we very suddenly and unexpectedly lost Lauren’s dad.  Now, not only were we navigating waters new to us, we were doing it during a once-in-a-lifetime pandemic that was new to everyone.  We spent the rest of 2020 just trying to keep our heads above water, but ended up losing another beloved family member to another non-covid issue before the year wrapped up.  We had each other, we had our health, and we had our faith.  Wouldn’t you know, the last video we shot and planned to release was with Lauren’s dad.  He wasn’t particularly fond of the camera, but we shot a family day-trip to the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center.  Because of our little project, we had planned this trip and shot photos and video of that day, which now we can treasure forever.

Summer of 2021 brought a milestone: one year.  One year since COVID changed everything, and one year since we lost Dad.  Our family was healing, we found new rhythms with work, and we were ready to shift our focus and our energy.  Last year, we simply weren’t ready; but this year, we savored the joys of birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas then rang in the New Year with fresh anticipation to create new, joyful memories.  We are excited about what’s to come, and about sharing it with you.
